Story telling has always been in Wyatt Cagle’s life. From a young age he performed on stage in a local theater troupe until he began to see the power of film. Pursuing this passion Wyatt began at a small production company while attending university. Three years later he had finished college and worked his way up to the head of production and post production services at Pizazz Productions.
Story telling has always been in Wyatt Cagle’s life. From a young age he performed on stage in a local theater troupe until he began to see the power of film. Pursuing this passion Wyatt began at a small production company while attending university. Three years later he had finished college and worked his way up to the head of production and post production services at Pizazz Productions.
After college Wyatt left the United States to become a camera operator on the Travel Channel: Europe series Warsaw Uncovered. Returning to the United states after the series conclusion Wyatt traveled to different regions of the country working on several feature films including his first feature as a director of photography, The Breakdance Kid, Which screened at the Austin Film Festival the following year.
Returning to Texas Wyatt accepted a position at POV Editing & Visual Effects where he worked for three years as an assistant and editor for large commercial, corporate, and feature film cliental. In 2005 Wyatt moved to Austin Texas where he started work for Sominio Solutions as an editor and director. While there he collaborated with dozens of technology based Fortune 500 companies such as HP, 3M, Cisco Systems, and Intel to produce cutting edge visuals for marketing and training purposes.
When the opportunity to come back to film production arose Wyatt jumped at the opportunity. After leaving Austin Wyatt traveled across the country working on feature films as an assistant director, camera operator, and as a digital image technician. Wyatt’s understanding of post production workflow and leading edge camera technology make him a perfect fit for this new position.
While at South by South West Wyatt was approached by an old friend and producer from New York with an idea for a children’s video series. A month later Wyatt was back in Houston heading up production and post production at Team Baby Entertainment. 40 DVD programs, 1 Soundtrack release, a clothing line, and a state of the art viral marketing campaign later Team Baby Entertainment was purchased by Michael Eisner, formally of Disney, and merged with TOPPS Baseball Card Company.
Looking for new challenges Wyatt and business partner, Greg Scheinman, created the PBS micro documentary series, Profiles with Greg Scheinman, that ran for two seasons. Because of his work on ‘Profiles’ Wyatt was approached by SWD Productions in 2009 to help produce a television series involving the Houston Dynamo. Shooting Stars aired on Fox Sports Network in August of 2010. As a freelance editor and cinematographer Wyatt Cagle enjoys helping clients with all levels of production knowledge and budgets. Wyatt listens first to his client, then only once his client's goals are fully understood, does he focus on the creative process - ensuring a strong, clear message with maximum creative impact. Whether he is working alone, beside a client or collaborating with a team of designers, creativity is always paramount.
Wyatt is trained and proficient on Avid, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere Pro edit systems, as well as an advanced user of Adobe After Effects and Apple Motion for visual effects work and compositing.
